SPEAKERS
Katherine Scotti
DVM, DACVECC
Dr. Scotti received her DVM from the University of California Davis followed by a small animal rotating internship at Texas A&M. She then completed her residency at Michigan State University and became a diplomate of American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.
She was the first criticalist in the upstate of South Carolina and was instrumental in establishing the first Emergency and Critical Care specialty in the area. She quickly rose within her role as criticalist and eventually became the Emergency and Critical Care Director at her practice for over a year. Missing the action and care for her patients Dr. Scotti is back full time as a criticalist at Fetch Specialty and Emergency Center in Greenville, SC. Her passion for teaching led her to hold many CE lectures for technicians, ER doctors, and local veterinarians. Her current clinical interests include polytrauma, sepsis, acute kidney injury, and hemodialysis. Dr. Scotti is driven to provide high quality patient care to all help patients and thrives in the recovery of critical and challenging cases.
Outside of work, Dr. Scotti loves spending time in her garden and creating flower arrangements for her friends and family. She loves trying new restaurants with her husband and traveling whenever possible. She currently has four dogs, two cats, and nine chickens to keep her busy..

Jessica Ogden
DVM, DACVs
Dr. Jessica Ogden is originally from the Detroit area, and attended both undergrad and vet school at Michigan State University. Her advanced training then took her to Iowa State University for a rotating internship, Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center for a surgical internship, Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center for a 3-year surgery residency, and to Ohio State for an additional year of focused surgical oncology training. Dr. Ogden became board-certified in 2019, and was a Clinical Assistant Professor of small animal soft tissue surgery at Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine from spring 2020 to fall 2023. Since fall of 2023, Dr. Ogden has been working exclusively as a locum soft tissue surgeon at several universities around the country, helping to fill surgeon staffing shortages. She loves teaching, and is also a strong advocate for mental health awareness, as she suffered from intense burnout towards the end of her advanced training years. She loves many types of soft tissue surgery cases, but some of her favorites include portosystemic shunts, laryngeal paralysis, surgical oncology, and emergency acute abdomen cases.
When Dr. Ogden isn’t performing surgery or teaching students & residents, she can be found spending time with her family and friends – trying new restaurants and microbreweries, exploring museums, adventuring in the outdoors, or traveling with her husband. She has somehow managed to only adopt one stray thus far: Chili P. Ogden, a gray tabby cat who loves food and chaos.
