Explore the breathtaking winter wilderness with exciting activities, including thrilling dog sledding adventures and the chance to get up close with local reindeer.  Migratory whales, including orcas call northern Norway home during winter and we’ll be on the hunt for them as well!  As night falls, witness the magical Northern Lights dancing across the sky in a spectacular natural display from your cozy Forest Suite.  Join other attendees for breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring local Norwegian fare, including 1 night of a fine dining experience!

Dan Duffy

BVM&S, DACVS

Dr Duffy, BVM&S (Hons.), MS, MRCVS, FHEA, CertHE, DACVS-SA, DECVS-SA, RCVS & European (EBVS) Recognized Specialist in Small Animal Orthopedic Surgery, is a graduate of The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and completed his surgery residency at Purdue University.  He was most recently an assistant professor and head of the orthopedic surgery department at NCSU before moving to private practice.

allison kendall dvm

Allison Kendall

DVM, DACVIM

Dr. Kendall obtained her DVM from Colorado State University in 2014. She then completed a one year rotating internship immediately followed by a residency and combined master’s degree in internal medicine at Purdue University. Dr. Kendall joined NCSU in 2018 for a post-doctoral Teaching Fellowship, prior to staying at NCSU for a faculty position. Dr. Kendall has an interest in the kidney and lower urinary tract of dogs and cats, as well as mental health and wellness of students.

Nestled among the breathtaking landscapes of Norway, our home for the week offers an idyllic retreat for those seeking relaxation and adventure. Unwind amidst nature’s beauty while earning excellent veterinary CE.  Enjoy luxurious accommodations, savor culinary delights crafted from fresh local ingredients, and participate in enriching activities.  Plus we get to say hi to 60 happy Alaskan Huskies everyday!

From our hosts:   Welcome to the good life.  We live and work in close contact with the elements. We invite our guests to share the good life in Finnmark with us through the winter.  Imagine a dog sledding trip in the forest, on the mountain plateau or on the river ice. Experience the wonderful light during the Polar Night and relax by a cozy fire. Join us for an adventure. The guests who visit us will always meet dogs that are happy, satisfied and well trained. They will never be in doubt that the welfare of the dogs is our top priority. We wish to share our respect, humility and love of the dogs and the nature-based experiences with everyone who visits us. 

Forest Suite

All Inclusive Price; Based on double occupancy

A 3rd Person can be added for an additional $2500 (subject to availability)

These suites are best suited for a couple or close friends – there is a double bed downstairs plus a sofa bed in an upstairs loft area

Solo travelers can book exclusively for total price, or inquire about us pairing you with another solo traveler if available

4 of the cabins are 1 bedroom private cabins.  1 of the cabins is a “double” cabin featuring 2 bedrooms

These one bedroom premium Forest Suites have high standard both outside and inside. With the greatest view, upwards to heaven and into the forest you are so close to the nature that it almost feels like sleeping outside. All the rooms are unique and decorated with interior from the local area and region.

The entrance hall leads through to a small kitchen bench with sink and kettle, one bathroom with shower and toilet and one bedroom with a double bed. Upstairs in the second floor there is a cosy “loft” living room with a seating area. Here is a sofa which can be made up into a comfortable single bed.

Slow down and watch the snow falling through the large windows.  Gaze up at night in search of the Northern Lights!!

Cozy Cabin

This cozy cabin near the Husky yard is composed of Four bedrooms – 2 double, and 2 twins.  Booking here means booking a room in the cabin sharing with other attendees

The ground floor consists of a double and a single bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and a living room with a wood-fired stove and seating area while upstairs there is a further double room and a twin room.

2 Twin Bedrooms are for a solo traveler – $4200

2 Double Bedrooms – $3899 per person sharing

Get to know your fellow attendees around a cozy wood burning fireplace in the evenings, or retreat to your private bedroom to wind down from the exciting day

*Please note* There is only one bathroom/shower in the cabin, max 6 people

  • Can I bring my non vet med partner/friend?
    • Yes! Each person needs to register, the price per person is the same. Non vet med guests are welcome to sit in on lectures or have free time

  • What's the weather like?
    • COLD! It is the height of winter season, so bring your warm clothes.  You'll also get to experience the beauty of the Polar Night (beautiful twilight - not completely dark!), although towards the end of January we should start to see more hours of sunlight
