An Unforgettable Experience Awaits
Traveling Vet Retreats is heading on safari! This CE retreat is perfect for the adventurous solo traveler, couples, and even families! And it doesn’t have to break the bank. We’ve made this possible by partnering directly with an amazing pristine camp in the bush of Africa near Kruger National Park, rather than contracting with a tour company, and offering spots on a shared basis – 2 people per tent! If you’re traveling with a partner or friend (vet or not) – perfect! If traveling solo, we’ll pair you up with another attendee of the same sex.
This retreat will be truly intimate – only 26 spots are available- and is perfect for the adventurous soul. You’ll fall asleep to the sound of wildlife in the night, hopefully catch the elephants passing by the pool for a sip of water, and spot the Big 5 on daily game drives into the park.
Our retreat takes place in the impressive Manyeleti Private Game Reserve just next to Kruger National Park – a Big 5 area!! It actually shares an unfenced border with the park so there is free movement of wildlife. You’ll be staying in luxury canvas tents which include raised decks, a private bath, full beds with canopy nets, as well as a communal dining area and pool.
What’s Included?
- 6 nights lodging on a shared basis – 2 people per tent
- All Meals – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- 2 Daily Game Drives (morning & evening)
- Sundowner Drink on Afternoon Game Drives
- Shuttle from the Hoedspruit Airport to the camp* (must arrive at set times)
- Entrance/Conservation fee to park
- 15 Hours RACE Approved CE
- TVR Goody Bag
What’s Not Included?
- Flights to and from destination
- Shuttle to camp if arriving outside of set hours
- Drinks (alcoholic & non alcoholic)
- Optional activities (bush walk, village tour, etc)
- Once off Community Levy paid on site (75 rand)
Do I need to be a vet/tech to go on this safari? Nope! If you’re traveling with a non vetmed spouse or friend, they can stay in your tent and chill by the pool during lectures (or join and learn!). The cost is the same – $3900 per person.
Can I bring kids? Yes! The camp is very kid friendly – junior ranger activities and even babysitting available (extra cost). Under 2 stays free , and under 12 is 50% price. Above 12 are charged as adults – please inquire.
Is this safari safe, I mean we’re staying in tents in the wild?! YES, it is very safe! These are not your average tents – they are heavy duty luxury canvas tents with all the amenities and privacy of a hotel room, raised on wooden platforms. Safety measures and camp rules will be discussed on arrival. You will be escorted to your tent by a ranger after dark. You are not allowed leave your tent after dark, and no food is allowed to be kept in your tent.
