Timothy Bolton

DVM, DACVIM

Internal Medicine

As an assistant professor of small animal internal medicine at the Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine for 2.5 years, I possess a passion for teaching. I educate students on internal medicine in the classroom and clinical environment, instruct post-doctoral trainees in the college’s internship and residency programs, and conduct clinical research with a particular interest in endocrinology. Prior to coming to Purdue, I was an assistant professor of small animal internal medicine at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine for 5 years. I was the proud recipient of many college and university level teaching awards, including Outstanding Instructor Awards from the
DVM Classes of 2020-2024, Virginia Tech’s Certificate of Teaching Excellence, and the Zoetis Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award. As with any passion, I strive for continued feedback and improvement in this area. After earning an undergraduate degree in biology from Baylor University, I completed my DVM degree at Texas A&M University, followed by internships at North Carolina State University and Memphis Veterinary Specialists. I then returned to Texas A&M University where I completed my residency in internal medicine. Prior to becoming faculty at the Virginia-Maryland College of
Veterinary Medicine, I spent 18 months in private specialty practice in Vermont.
